The Rogue Moto Story
Alex Moore - Founder of Rogue Moto, previously known as MotoDiscovery Rentals
Alex grew up in a multi-lingual household with globetrotting parents. His mother was a Pan-American stewardess born in Istanbul who attended international schools in Africa, the Philapeans, and Central America. Dad recently retired from a 50+ year career as a fire and explosion engineer who worked in over 70 countries protecting mines and billion-dollar petrochemical facilities.
Alex has worked in adventure travel, search and rescue, and the language arts over the past 3 decades. During the last 10 years, he served as Managing Director with Skip Mascorro from MotoDiscovery Tours and owes much of his experience in the adventure moto industry to this exceptional tour and training company. Alex lives in Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife, and two exceptional children. Together they love overland travel, motorcycling, mountain biking, and snorkeling.
Rogue Moto, founded in 2013, guides the rider to be the hero of their own journey. Rogue provides purpose-built rental motorcycles, curated self-guided rides, expert guidance, and support vehicle systems. They also work with tour companies worldwide to provide white-label support for their tours and events in the USA and beyond.
Principles -
- Details matter.
- Before you go, learn as much of the local language as you can.
- The best learning is experiential.
- The person in front is the #1 factor affecting the safety of a team or group.
- Emergencies happen, so be prepared.
